SOIL: New Album Being Mastered
December 17, 2005Chicago's SOIL are currently mastering their new album for a tentative February/March 2006 release via DRT Entertainment.
Commented the band's guitarist Shaun Glass: "The album is being mastered now. This is the final stages of audio, making sure this thing sounds even bigger than it does now. Also, a new song will be going out after the holidays for all you net junkies. We promise the track will pack a punch and a hook that won't leave your head. Also we have been jamming on some new and classic SOIL songs preparing for the U.K. tour in January 2006. We think it will be a good balance of our songs. Don't expect any covers as we will leave that up to the bar band that is out there playing our songs (instead of their own; how sad)."
SOIL's follow-up to last year's "Redefine" was recorded and mixed at Bomb Shelter studios in Los Angeles, California with producer Ulrich Wild (STATIC-X, TAPROOT). The upcoming CD will be the group's first to feature singer A.J. Cavalier, who previously fronted the California-based DIESEL MACHINE (also featuring ex-DAMAGEPLAN frontman Patrick Lachman on guitar). The band's original vocalist, Ryan McCombs, has since joined the Texas act DROWNING POOL.
